Blues Crew Road Patrol - Improving County Roads for Recreation

  • To Be Announced by Trip Leader Walla Walla, WA, 99362 United States (map)

Overview

Blues Crew will provide socially distanced trash pickup to help beautify Walla Walla County rural roads. Volunteers will drive their personal vehicle to a designated location, walk along the route picking up trash and litter, and work back to their cars. Individual segments vary in length, but out and back will be roughly 1 – 2 miles.

Volunteers must be able to repeatedly bend over and pick up items and carry approximately 10 pounds in a trash bag, filling 3-4 bags. The time frame is approximately 3 hours. Volunteers will be sent a complete set of instructions to be read before arriving at the event. A map of the route and assignment descriptions will be provided at the Safety Briefing.

Notes

Pets are not to accompany volunteers on a Blues Crew work party due to work safety concerns.  Volunteers must be 18 years of age. All participants in outdoor events, including but not limited to education, conservation, and recreation gatherings, will wear masks except when the event leaders determine that social distancing can provide sufficient safety to allow unmasked activity.
