Overview
Blues Crew will partner with the Little Theater of Walla Walla to brush out the jungles their landscaping has become! Ten Blues Crew volunteers will work in pairs to remove overgrowth such as English Ivy and blackberry and undesirable plants and small brush/trees. Yes, it’s gardening - but for all the right reasons! We’ll use our trail-clearing skills to beautify, improve plant health and reduce the risk for fire and injury in this urban landscape.
We'll have fun, work hard and make a difference! No experience is necessary.
COVID precautions: Volunteers will be asked to show proof of full vaccination to COVID-19 by showing a vaccination record, and self-certify that they are well on the day of the work party, without: Fever or chills; Cough; Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing; Fatigue; Muscle or body aches; Headache; New loss of taste or smell; Sore throat; Congestion or runny nose; Nausea or vomiting; Diarrhea. Cloth masks to be worn whenever social distancing of 6 feet or greater is not possible.
Work to accomplish
Blues Crew will be using hand saws, shovels, pruners and other tools to clear areas of weeds, undesirable plants, brush, limbs, and windfall. Debris will be collected for composting or chipping. Blues Crew Sawyers will be removing small trees and shrubs during a separate work party the following day.
Note
Pets are not to accompany volunteers on a Blues Crew work party due to work safety concerns.
