Blue Mountain Land Trust Blues Crew honored by Senator Merkley for trail stewardship work

LA GRANDE, OR – The Blue Mountain Land Trust (BMLT) Blues Crew was honored with a certificate award and flag from the U.S. Capitol during a special meeting at La Grande High School. Senator Jeff Merkley commended the volunteer crew for their outstanding trail stewardship work across the Blue Mountain region.

During his visit to Union County for an annual town hall meeting, Senator Merkley expressed his admiration for the trail work carried out by the BMLT Blues Crew. Greg Brown graciously accepted the honors on behalf of the dedicated group. 

The award holds significant meaning for the BMLT Blues Crew, representing notable achievement and regional recognition of their endeavors. The impact of their work at Horseshoe Prairie Nordic Ski area was highlighted during the award ceremony, drawing attention to the positive influence it has on Union County winter recreation access. The efforts provide outdoor enthusiasts in the region with opportunities to enjoy and explore the beautiful surroundings.
