BMLT Blues Crew: Wilderness Trails First Aid/CPR Training

  • Walla Walla Fire District 4 Station 41 2251 South Howard Street Walla Walla, WA (map)

Join the BMLT Blues Crew for practical wilderness first aid skills for Trail Crew Leaders, Certified Sawyers, and other dedicated volunteers.

Come join us for a hands-on First Aid/CPR Training session at the Walla Walla Fire District 4 Station 41. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just love the great outdoors, this training is essential for anyone spending time in the wilderness. Learn life-saving skills from experienced EMT/instructor Joyce Himes of northeast Oregon who comes highly recommended by our friends at Wallowa Mountains Hells Canyon Trails Association. Approved by the American Heart Association, certification is for 2 (two) years and includes First Aid, CPR, and AED, but with an emphasis on triage and management when 911 first responders won't be on scene for some time.

Certified Sawyers and Blues Crew Trail Crew Leaders needing certification get highest priority in ticketing. Joyce is charging us $60 per person; donations are gratefully accepted but not required for attendance.

Wear comfortable clothes. Accommodations for physical limitations will be available. Lunch break will be 45 minutes, so pack a sack lunch and we can picnic in the cemetery or out on the Prospect Point playground!

Our Event Registrar is Holly Howard - if you have any questions, please call her at (509) 301-1859. BMLT is following current CDC guidelines for infectious disease prevention. Please, if you are not well on the day of the event, stay home and let us know you're not coming.

Be a part of this exciting volunteer opportunity! We'll have fun, work hard and make a difference. No experience is necessary.
