There are plenty of good poets in the Walla Walla Valley. Come hear them ‘sing the blues.’ The Foundry Vineyard’s Gallery is the perfect place to celebrate the pairing of wine and poetry while also enjoying their latest art exhibit.
Charles Potts, recipient of the Washington Poetry Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award, will read as well as emcee each event, as Teri Zipf, Lynn Knapp, Mary Aparicio Castrejon, and others share their work over two evenings: Wednesday, April 3 and Thursday, May 16.
Charles is often asked “What constitutes good poetry?” He says there are four criteria, in his mind. It must be original. It needs intellectual rigor, i.e., it must mean something that is of importance to others. It must have emotional resonance, with an artistic edge.
Come and enjoy an evening of fine wine and good poetry. Poets will have their books available for purchase at the event, and BMLT will be selling The Blues, volumes 1-4, as well. Foundry Vineyards wine may be purchased by the glass or by the bottle. Doors open at 6:30pm; program begins at 7pm.
