For Love of Geese

  • McNary Wildlife Refuge - Environmental Education Center 64 Maple Street Burbank, WA, 99323 United States (map)

Ever wonder what it was like to stand inside of a snow globe? Join us at McNary Wildlife Refuge on February 14 to find out! Every winter, thousands of migrating snow geese swirl through the refuge and blanket the landscape as they eat their way across the wetlands. At McNary, you will have the opportunity to observe the incredible flocks migrating through the area and learn about their life history amid a cacophony of honking.

Mike Denny, our event host, will lead us along the interpretive nature trail through the Burbank Slough. Along the way, Mike will discuss the migratory patterns and characteristics of the wonderful Snow Goose. The 3 mile out-and-back nature trail, which includes access to the bird blind, is paved and wheelchair accessible.

This event is perfect for families, birders, natural history lovers, and curious individuals. Guests should expect to spend several hours outside, walking and standing along the 3-mile paved trail.

Registration closes 3 days in advance.
