Backyard Habitat - Insect Inn

  • Outside the Lines Art Studio Walla Walla, WA 99362 (map)

Curious about what you can do in your backyard to support native pollinators? Join us for a family-friendly workshop to craft your very own insect inn.

Insect Inns provide vital year-round habitat for a variety of native insect species. Bee, wasp, ladybug, butterfly, and moth species hibernate over the winter, and Insect Inns provide a safe place where these small creatures can stay warm and dry until springtime. Each insect species prefers a different type of nesting material, so we’ve designed our Insect Inns to be filled with various natural materials of your choosing to help you attract a diverse clientele.

You’ll also have the opportunity to learn about local pollinators and their importance in maintaining healthy ecosystems from special guest Heidi Dobson.

There is plenty of room at the studio and in the yard to maintain social distancing.

Registration closes Wednesday, July 22.
