EXPLORE: Fly Fishing 101

Come and learn a new way to both experience our beautiful Blue Mountain waterways and catch your dinner! There are many places to fly fish throughout our vast region, and this is your chance to learn how.

Andrew Bassler, Education Coordinator for the salmon enhancement group, Tri-State Steelheaders, will give you a crash course on the basics of fly fishing on land. You’ll learn cover casting, equipment, macro invertebrates, and basic fly selection with an avid and experienced fly fisherman. Once you’ve got the hang of technique on land you’ll be ready to fish the rivers.

Equipment will be provided by Tr-State Steelheaders.
