Description:
The Blues Crew has worked hard this season to improve major portions of the Lick Creek trail. This work party will attempt to complete the trail improvements to the mid-section of the lower trail. The work area will be reached from the Umatilla River Road near Corporation. There will be a 1.5+ mile hike up to the work area from the trailhead. Note that the work area is in a densely wooded area with shade.
· Major brush work
· Tread repair
· Removal of tree fall and logs
· Placement of trail signs
Note: Pets are not to accompany volunteers on a Blues Crew work party due to work safety concerns.
What to Expect
We'll have fun, work hard and make a difference! No experience is necessary.

Schedule
7:30 am – Meet at USFS parking lot on Rose Street in Walla Walla
7:45 am –Depart for Corporation and Lick Creek Trailhead
9:00 am – Arrive Trailhead. Orientation and safety briefing
Noon – Bring your own lunch
3 pm – Work complete. Discussion and beverages at trailhead. Return to Walla Walla.

What it Takes to Do This Work Party
No experience is necessary—just bring a great attitude for working with a team! USFS provides the training and tools you need
Expect to be physically active at your own pace for up to 6 hours on uneven terrain
Recommended for ages 10 and older; under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and a parental consent form must be signed for anyone under 18
What to Wear
Boots - no sneakers or sandals
Long pants
Leather gloves
Long-sleeved shirt
Eye protection recommended (glasses, sunglasses or safety glasses)
Ticks can be present: DEET for self, permethrin for clothes
A hard hat will be provided by BMLT. For safety reasons, shorts and sneakers are not allowed.

A pack to carry your personal gear
A sense of fun and adventure for learning new skills and meeting great people!
"Leave No Trace": Please come prepared to pack out your toilet paper in a sealed plastic bag
Firearms and weapons are not allowed.
