The trails in the Blue Mountains need your help. Volunteer with Blue Mountain Land Trust's Blues Crew for a fun and rewarding way to give back to the places you love to hike.

Blues Crew is dedicated to improving the quality and accessibility of our beautiful Blue Mountain trails by working directly with regional agencies such as the USFS Umatilla National Forest. Blues Crew welcomes anyone who wants to lend a hand and help out on trail—whether you've had years of experience or you're brand new to tools.

People & Partners

As a Blues Crew supporter, you’re helping ensure that our outdoor spaces are protected and maintained for years to come.

Kiyo Fujishin Kiyo serves as the Trail Crew Foreman for the Umatilla National Forest, Walla Walla Ranger District. Kiyo was the Blues Crew’s guide and mentor throughout our first season on the trails where he guided us in the construction and maintenance of a proper trail. The Pulaski and the McLeod became familiar tools among all Blues Crew members and we learned how to pull (not push) the cross cut saw. We look forward to Kiyo’s guidance on all future trails!

Ted Bergstrom We would like to recognize Ted Bergstrom as our 2019 Exceptional Blues Crew Volunteer! Ted has generously dedicated his time to recreating trail signs for many of the serviced trails throughout the Umatilla National Forest. Ted was formally recognized by the USFS for his sign work at this year’s Blues Crew Celebration BBQ, where he was gifted an old trail sign by Mike Rassbach, our Walla Walla District Ranger. You rock Ted!
